Pharmacology Update:
Focus on Antimicrobial Therapy

The challenge of using appropriate antimicrobial therapy is something nurse practitioners struggle with everyday. This pharmacology program will provide the latest information on the use of antimicrobial therapy. The speaker will discuss how antimicrobials work, how they become resistant, and what can be done to stop resistance. The program will specifically address such resistant organisms as MRSA and Clostridium difficile among others. A review of antifungal agents will also be provided. The participants will have an opportunity to put their knowledge to use while working through a case study.
