Overview:

This presentation is an introduction to the preceptor role. Responsibilities of the nursing institution, the facility, the preceptor and the student will be reviewed. Strategies for a successful precepting experience will be discussed.  Benefits and barriers to precepting will be examined and techniques for overcoming barriers will be described.  Lastly, strategies on how to navigate having a difficult student will be discussed.
