Behavioral objectives

  • Clearly describe what the participant will learn as a result of attending this session.
  • Each objective must be stated in terms of learner outcome i.e:
    • at the end of the session the participant should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and/or skills
    • In order for content to be approved for pharmacology credit, it should be designed to improve the learners’ ability to prescribe (i.e., learning objective(s) and content description include content on pharmacokinetics and clinical applications of drugs).

Example of pharmacology objectives*

  1.  Review the use and guidelines for benzodiazepine and other antianxiety medications
  2. Review the literature of benzodiazepine use and DEA prescribing guidelines
  3. To determine treatment locations for geriatric addictions

*Requested pharmacology minutes require pharmacology specific objectives.
Pharmacology content is designed to enhance the learner’s ability to prescribe and or monitor patients on pharmacotherapy. It includes topics such as pharmacokinetics and clinical applications of drugs. Pharmacology credit must be supported by an activity’s objectives and detailed content. Incidental mention of drugs or pharmacological treatment does not qualify for pharmacology credit.
